It’s officially the Spooky Season…
(celebrating Halloween)
Halloween is around the corner, it’s a holiday that celebrated each year on 31st October. Everyone start to get ready for the costume, house decor and planning a cozy pumpkin spice gathering. Although celebrating Halloween is not tradition in Malaysia, but it is TRENDY & FUN things to do.
We are looking forward Halloween, as it is the time to get CREEP UP~!
(Our workspace is encouraging clock in with the costumes)
Before we celebrate, 3 simple Halloween’s facts that we should know!
No. 1:
Is an ancient Celtic festival known as Samhain, meaning “summer’s end”.
No. 2:
Holiday to dress up and have fun, especially for kiddos! (but we volunteer to take part too, who said adulthood couldn’t be FUN?)
No. 3:
It was believed that on that day, the souls of the dead returned to their home, so people dressed in costumes and lit bonfires to ward off spirits. (Now it sounds like Chinese Ghost Month Festival, just that we don’t dress up)
What kinds of Halloween’s funtivities we always saw on TV?
1. [TRICK or TREATS]
Where the kiddos dressed up in costumes, go from door to door in a neighborhood, to ask for the treats with the creepy tricks on those who refuse.
2. Well, next you know, adult in make up, and costumes for the parties... You can be anyone/ anything on Halloween, even a lemon (If you wear a full lemon yellow). Check out Heidi Klum’s Halloween costumes, she never disappoint with the creepy art of Halloween. Is this photo from Heidi Klum's Halloween costumes for you ?
3. For some people, they practice to attend Church services, lighting candle (on the graves of the dead) . - To guide lost spirits home and signifies remembrance
This year, we’re featuring something hocus-pocus for O&C’s Halloween Themed centre-piece --- POE & BRAM. Begin with the idea of turning our bear-shaped chocolate pinata into spooky creep characters.
Did a lil sketch before we proceed for the trial. Thanks for the team, realizing the sketch into these spooky-cute edible pinata. (Never thought them would be in cute version instead of creepy)
